North Carolina Zoo

The North Carolina Zoo is the largest "walk-through" natural-habitat zoo in the world, the first in the United States, and only one of two state-owned zoos in the United States. The 1,371-acre zoo, which houses over 1100 animals from more than 250 species, receives more than 700,000 visitors annually.
