From a modest 60 animatronic dinosaurs in 2004, our collection today consists of more than 300 dinosaurs across some 60 different species – from the smallest dinosaur, Compsognathus to the 43-foot long Tyrannosaurus Rex. All our dinosaurs are beautifully crafted to look and sound as realistic as possible by our team of highly skilled designers, engineers, technicians and artists. Each year, we add new dinosaurs and incorporate new ideas and technology to help our clients make each dinosaur exhibition better than their last.
Billings Productions has over 300 dinosaurs across 60 species, with more being added each year.
All our dinosaurs are designed and built in our facility here in Texas by our in-house team of designers, engineers, sculptors and artists – each highly skilled in their craft and passionate about dinosaurs.
And the results show for themselves. Billings’ dinosaurs not only look and sound real, we’ve been told they also have character and appeal. That’s because we pay attention to the details when it comes to building each dinosaur – be it size, features, color or movements.
Equally, if not more importantly, they are built to work efficiently and reliably. We use steel and skin material made from a special urethane compound – a compound that protects our dinosaurs against sun, rain and snow, making them perfect for clients who prefer to display the dinosaurs in their natural environment.
Each dinosaur is fitted with its own electronic brain to activate and control the movements and to produce the sounds. The realistic movements on our dinosaurs are powered by a pneumatic system that enables smoother and finer movements – unlike electrical ones which tend to create crude and jerky movements.
In addition, all dinosaurs leased out receive periodic on-site maintenance by our team of “dino-doctors” who ensure that they continue looking good and working well.
