Why We’re Going by Billings Productions...

If you’ve known us as The Dinosaur Company, thank you. We love that name—and we’ll always treasure it. But our work has grown far beyond dinosaurs, and it’s time our name reflects the whole story we’ve been writing together.

A Name Rooted in Family & Craft

Billings Productions, Inc. began in 2003, when Larry and Sandra Billings set out to educate and enchant—turning science into spectacle and curiosity into wonder. Today, that legacy continues with a team that designs and builds experiences right here in Texas, serving museums, zoos, theme parks, and destinations around the world. Calling ourselves Billings honors the family who started it and the people who carry the craft forward.

Bigger Than Dinosaurs (Though We Still Love a ROAR)

Yes, we build world-class dinosaurs—but also giant bugs, primal predators, custom creatures, playful props, and new collections that light up the imagination. Our work appears globally, in places that invite guests to learn, touch, listen, and wonder.

Built in Texas. Built to Last.

From steel to teeth, we’ve invested in American manufacturing for control, quality, and reliability. That means fewer delays, more durability, and exhibits designed to be repaired—not tossed. Sustainability starts with how and where things are made, and we’re proud to keep that work close to home.

Here at Billings, we have animatronics pieces dating back 20 years; pieces that Larry Billings built himself. These animatronic still go out today, though they've been updated and "reskinned" many times over -- but that is what makes us who we are. Our mission is to build the impossible, and make that impossible thing sustainable. We don't just build beautiful animatronics -- we are building art that teaches conservation while also being a crucial part of the message itself.

Custom paint jobs for our clients is one of the many things we love about being here in the U.S.

A Few Recent Adventures

Over the last few years, you may have seen our creatures at leading zoos and museums—from Phoenix and Nashville to Chester and Knuthenborg—plus industry showcases like AZA and IAAPA. Whether it’s bringing a desert to life or a forest to motion, we love building exhibits that make learning unforgettable.

Where We’re Heading

The heart of Billings is creative problem-solving on real-world timelines. We’re leaning further into:

  • Wish-powered moments that partner with organizations to make magic attainable for all children and families.

  • Interactive and gaming collaborations that blend physical builds with digital play—because imagination that lives on screen can become tangible in real life.

  • Ambitious, fast-turn builds that keep projects on track without losing a drop of wonder. (Our clients know: we love a challenge!)

What to Expect on Socials

You’ll start seeing Billings more often across our channels. Think of it as the umbrella for everything we do—the dinosaurs you adore, the bugs that keep you buzzing, the predators that prowl exhibits, and all the custom magic still to come.

Same team, same craftsmanship, bigger canvas.

Thank you for roaring with us all these years. Here’s to the next chapter—
